Match Report

Division 1 Cup Quarter-Final
A much changed Bulls team became the third team to reach the semi-finals by bringing their aggregate over three matches against Godalming this season to 12-0.
Bradley Rolland, Sean Lambert, Ruben Mendes-Pestana, Kieren Stephens and Calvin Weir all came in to the team as well as Jack Griffin moving up from his bench duties at Walton and Hersham. It was Weir’s full debut and Stephens second start of the season.
Godalming had put up stout resistance at Springfield in mid December but any nerves were calmed when Weir marked his full debut with a goal after only 9 minutes following a melee after a corner. Jonny Le Quesne added a second five minutes before half time and just before the interval whistle Adam Trotter added a third. It was Trotter’s second of the season, both of which have been in cup ties.
Weir scored his second just before the hour and soon after had a good chance to claim a hat-trick but scuffed his shot when put clear. Sol Solomon brought off the bench took just 12 minutes to score to wrap up the victory at the three-quarter point of the match.
The Bulls therefore join F.C. Deportivo Galicia, Walton and Hersham and the winners of Sandhurst Town and Kensington & Ealing Borough, who meet on 25th February, in the semi-finals, the draw of which is awaited.
