Match Report

On a wet evening under the lights at Bedfont Sports Ground Jersey Bulls had an impressive start to their first away game. The 4G surface was slick. As early as the first 5 minutes an swinging delivery from Jay Giles was met perfectly by Luke Campbell who powered home a header into the roof of the net. The team celebrated together under the lights of the match day electronic scoreboard. The team were playing with an excellent tempo and moving the ball around quickly. Just inside ten minutes Karl Hinds converted a penalty after 17 year old James Carr was upended in the 18 yard box. The pace of the game then slowed and Deportivo started creating some openings and enjoying more possession. Twenty minutes Into the first half the history maker Fraser Barlow was fouled and suffered a heavy blow to his quadriceps leading to a dead leg. It became apparent five minutes later that he couldn’t run it off and he was replaced by the tricky Zeljko Martinovic. The game became a little disjointed with both teams creating a few chances. The score at half time 0-2. The second half kicked off with Jersey Bulls FC looking to increase the fluidity and speed of movement.

Zeljko 68 Martinovic converted after clever play by Kamen Nafkha who was played through by the impressive Adam Trotter. Lester was replaced after 62 minutes by Darryl Wilson who made an immediate impact by slotting home from close range following play by Karl Hinds.

Karl hInds made it 5-0 following a well directed header into the bottom corner after 79mins with Zeljko Martinovic claiming an assist with a perfectly placed cross. Karl Hinds completed the scoring and his hat trick when he converted an 89min penalty, the young James Carr again causing problems for the opposition in the penalty box and drawing the foul. Another Clean sheet for Euan Van Der Vliet and his back four means the players have begun life well. Deportivo now prop up the table after back to back 6-0 losses.
